Dan Bau: One-Stringed Traditional Instrument


A native of Saigon, Vietnam , Nhut came to the US in 1989. He studied Dan Bau with Phan Chi Thanhwho is an innovator of that instrument. Nhut has played the Dan Bau since he was very young. He also plays the guitar and is an active musician in the Vietnamese traditional group "Echo from the Motherland".

Nhut is also an engineer at IBM in San Jose,California. Nhut has played dan bau in the documentary film "Regret to inform" and has recorded on many albums.
