Mingyuan Yuan
Mr. Yuan Mingyuan is a Chinese Erhu player and educator who had his first Erhu lessons at nine and entered the Sichuan Conservatory of Music majoring in folk music in 1978. He studied under famous professors Zhong Zhengguang, Shu Zhao and Xiao Qianyong. Yuan graduated with excellent marks in 1982. He plays and teaches erhu in the Chengdu Municpal Group, the Chengdu Folk Orchestra, Tibet Art School, Tibet Military Music Group, Leshan Normal Institute and the Sichuan Conservatory of Music. Mr. Yuan Mingyuan was a disciple of Master Qin Pengzhang and recognized as a member of the Tibet Musicians Association and the Chinese Musicians Association. He is a visiting erhu player at the California Youth Chinese Traditional Musicians Group, USA. He teaches erhu at the Feitian Arts School in San Francisco and was a judge in the Final Competition of Chinese Instrument International Competition, World Cup USA.
